Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Frank's RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika optional, for depth and color
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat

Equipment

  • Small Saucepan
  • Whisk

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the Frank's RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce, melted unsalted butter, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika (if using), and cayenne pepper (if using).
  2. Place the saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk continuously until the sauce is well combined, smooth, and just begins to simmer, about 5-7 minutes. Do not bring to a rolling boil.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and continue to gently whisk for another 3-5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to slightly thicken.
  4. Remove from heat and serve immediately, or let cool slightly before tossing with cooked chicken wings. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.

Notes

**Storage**: Store leftover buffalo sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Reheat gently on the stovetop over low heat, whisking frequently, or in the microwave in short bursts.
**Usage**: This sauce is not just for wings! Drizzle it over chicken tenders, mix into mac and cheese, use as a dipping sauce for fries, or add a spicy kick to sandwiches and wraps. For spicier sauce, add more cayenne pepper or a pinch of red pepper flakes. For a milder sauce, slightly increase the butter.
