Method
- In a small saucepan, combine the Frank's RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce, melted unsalted butter, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika (if using), and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Place the saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk continuously until the sauce is well combined, smooth, and just begins to simmer, about 5-7 minutes. Do not bring to a rolling boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and continue to gently whisk for another 3-5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to slightly thicken.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately, or let cool slightly before tossing with cooked chicken wings. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
Notes
**Storage**: Store leftover buffalo sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Reheat gently on the stovetop over low heat, whisking frequently, or in the microwave in short bursts.
**Usage**: This sauce is not just for wings! Drizzle it over chicken tenders, mix into mac and cheese, use as a dipping sauce for fries, or add a spicy kick to sandwiches and wraps. For spicier sauce, add more cayenne pepper or a pinch of red pepper flakes. For a milder sauce, slightly increase the butter.
