- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
- Whisk milk and egg together, then add to the dry ingredients and gently mix to form a soft dough.
- Pat dough to about 1-inch thickness, cut into biscuits, and place on baking sheet.
- Brush tops with melted butter and bake for 14–18 minutes until lightly golden.
