Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 banana fresh or frozen (frozen for extra creaminess)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk, dairy milk, coconut water
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt full-fat or low-fat for creaminess and protein
  • 1 tsp fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 tbsp honey or maple syrup optional, adjust to taste
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract optional

Equipment

  • Blender

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients: Add the frozen mango chunks, banana, unsweetened almond milk, plain Greek yogurt, fresh lime juice, honey or maple syrup (if using), and vanilla extract (if using) into a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend until smooth: Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If necessary, stop the blender and scrape down the sides with a spatula to ensure all ingredients are incorporated.
  3. Adjust consistency (optional): If the smoothie is too thick, add an additional tablespoon or two of almond milk and blend again until desired consistency is reached. If it's too thin, add a few more frozen mango chunks and blend again.
  4. Serve immediately: Pour the creamy tropical mango smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately for the best texture and flavor. Garnish with a slice of lime or a sprig of mint if desired.

Notes

For an extra tropical kick, add 1/4 cup frozen pineapple chunks or a small piece of fresh ginger to the blender. To increase protein, add a scoop of vanilla or unflavored protein powder. This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh; however, you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, though the texture may change slightly.
