Method
- Combine warm milk and yeast in a large bowl and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt. Mix until combined, then gradually add flour to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in brown sugar, cream, honey, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the caramel mixture into a greased baking dish and sprinkle evenly with chopped pecans.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, sprinkle with cinnamon, roll tightly, and slice into buns.
- Place buns cut-side down over the pecan mixture. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until golden. Cool briefly, then invert onto a serving plate.
Notes
Serve warm for maximum gooeyness. These sticky buns are best enjoyed the same day.
