Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup walnuts or pecans finely chopped
For Rolling
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and smooth.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Fold in the chopped nuts until evenly distributed.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12–14 minutes, until the bottoms are lightly golden and the tops remain pale.
  8. Let cookies cool for 5 minutes, then gently roll them in powdered sugar while still warm.
  9. Cool completely, then roll again in powdered sugar for a snowy finish.

Notes

These cookies store well in an airtight container for up to a week. For variation, try using almonds or hazelnuts, or add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth.
