Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a round cake pan.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Slowly pour in the hot water while stirring until well combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before removing from the pan.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Melt the dark chocolate chips and drizzle over the cooled cake.
- Top with whipped cream and fresh strawberries before serving.
Notes
For extra indulgence, slice the cake in half and add a layer of whipped cream and strawberries in the middle.
